Jasmine Li's Volunteer Story

For nearly a decade, Jasmine Li has helped bring The Brookline Center’s mission to life, volunteering at events that fuel the Center’s impact. What began as a single evening at the Kids Fund Gala quickly became a meaningful tradition—one that has deepened Jasmine’s connection to the Center’s community and cause.

“Listening to the guest speakers’ powerful stories and witnessing the generosity in the room at events like the Kids Fund Gala is truly inspiring,” Jasmine shares. “Each time I volunteer, I’m reminded of how much this community cares about making a difference in mental health.”

Volunteering at the Center has given Jasmine a deeper understanding of the many ways people can support one another. “It’s a reminder that everyone has their own story, and that support can take many forms,” she reflects. “Whether it’s showing up to volunteer, making a donation, or simply spreading awareness, there are so many ways to make a difference.”

Jasmine enjoys helping with Hand in Hand, the Center’s beloved “philanthropy-in-action” event, where community members gather to assemble care packages for caregivers in need. “It’s powerful to see the Brookline community come together in this way,” she says. “Every item in those care packages is thoughtfully chosen, and so much care goes into assembling them.”

Though Jasmine describes her role as a small one, her contributions are essential to the Center’s development team, who rely on a team of volunteers to ensure fundraising events run smoothly.

“Volunteers are just one piece of the puzzle, but I’ve seen firsthand how dedicated The Brookline Center’s staff is to this mission,” Jasmine says. “Their kindness, care, and commitment to providing high-quality mental health support is truly remarkable.”
