For nearly 70 years, The Brookline Center for Community Mental Health has provided expert care for children, adolescents, and adults. We’re committed to meeting people where they are, removing barriers to access, and building the systems that make care possible for everyone.
Highlights of The Brookline Center’s work include:
- Partnerships with 250+ Massachusetts K–12 public schools to deliver targeted, evidence-informed interventions for students at the highest risk for suicide.
- Leading the state’s largest youth early psychosis intervention program and training community health centers to identify symptoms and connect young people to care.
- Serving as The Commonwealth’s selected partner to help under-resourced rural and urban communities implement telebehavioral health services during the school day.
- Launching a Boston-based perinatal mental health program providing specialized care for mothers at heightened risk for postpartum depression.

Programs & Services
Clinical Services
Our licensed clinicians provide individual, group, and family therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, as well as medication management and neuropsych testing. We work hard to prevent language, income, or insurance from standing in the way of compassionate care. Learn more.
ACCESS
For new parents, the first year of a child’s life can be transformative. For one in five, it can become a crisis. ACCESS is a perinatal mental health initiative that partners with pediatric practices to identify and support mothers experiencing depression, anxiety, and psychosis, expanding access to psychiatric care while addressing barriers such as transportation, childcare, and language.
bryt
For students returning to school after a mental health crisis, bryt makes sure they don’t have to do it alone. Our school-based reintegration program works directly within schools, helping kids transition back to the academic environment and avoid rehospitalization. Learn more.
COMPASS
Youth involved with the Department of Children and Families often carry the heaviest burdens and face the steepest barriers. COMPASS brings mental health support directly into schools, meeting students where they are, so they can stay stable, connected, and on track.
School-Based Telebehavioral Health
Sometimes the hardest part of getting help is getting there. Our School-Based Telebehavioral Health program offers virtual therapy accessible from school or home, removing the barriers that too often keep kids from care. Learn more.
CEDAR (Center for Early Detection, Assessment, and Response to Risk)
Early psychosis is treatable, especially when caught early. CEDAR provides specialized, coordinated care for young people experiencing a first episode of psychosis, grounded in the understanding that supportive relationships are central to recovery. We help young people stay connected to school, work, and the people they love. Learn more.
M-PATH (Massachusetts Psychosis Access and Triage Hub)
Navigating early psychosis care shouldn’t depend on who you know or where you live. M-PATH is a statewide hub that connects individuals, families, and providers to specialized early psychosis programs across Massachusetts, removing the guesswork and the barriers that too often delay care.
