Please support our team by clicking on a runner's name or picture to be directed to their fundraising page. Each runner has a goal of raising $5,000 with proceeds directly benefitting BCMHC programs and services.

Alejando Alvarado

Alejandro is Boston resident who has played competitive sports through college. He is excited to be part of a team again and loves to feed off the energy of a motivated group. He ran the BAA Half Marathon last October and decided he'd like to run his first marathon with Team Brookline.  Alejandro  is committed to use this experience to raise awareness and support for the services BCMHC provides for the community.  To support Alejandro in his run, please go to:

Elizabeth Burke

Liz is a 24 year old editor who recently moved to the Brookline area. She is running her first marathon in support of the BCMHC and in honor of her grandfather, who is currently suffering from dementia. She is raising support to fund programs at the BCMHC like Homesafe, which works with all individuals at risk of wandering or getting lost (children with autism, adults with cognitive disorders, and elders with Alzheimer's or dementia).  She has always run 5ks and 10ks but never a marathon. "Being part of Team Brookline has been an amazing experience for my first marathon because we are all running for a common cause and are a great support system to one another!" She is running to honor her mother who has worked in the mental health industry for over 20 years, and to support the importance of having quality mental health services in the Brookline community. She believes that the support of Team Brookline will be the key to her crossing that finish line. To support Jennifer in her run, please go to:

Josh Eagle

Josh is a Brookline resident and clinician at BCMHC. This is his second Marathon and this year he's chosen to run in honor of a young man named Jose Vazquez-Vinasco. He met Jose through his involvement in the Brookline Center's BRYT Program at Brookline High School last year. Tragically, he passed away in December from complications related to cancer. "A portion of the funds I raise through my run will help support a college scholarship for students like Jose who have fought and overcome long odds on their own paths to college. I plan to make Jose (and you!) proud on April 15." To support Josh in his run, please go to:

Sarah Harris

Sarah is a third grade teacher at the Baker School in Brookline. She became aware of the BCMHC through her work.  "The support BCMHC provides to children and families is invaluable.  This will be my first marathon.  I have been amazed by the tremendous support I have received from friends and family regarding my fundraising and training.  Now that I have successfully completed the 21 mile training run, I cannot wait for April 15th!" Ajay is a Brookline resident who picked up running again this winter after a 20 year break. This  will be his first "official" marathon.  He is inspired by a close family member who also began running late in life and is now an ultra-marathoner.  He strongly believes in the mission of the Brookline Community Mental Health Center and feels that community mental health care should be accessible in every town.
