Confidence. Focus. Growth.
“Coaching helped me see what I’m capable of and gave me a better idea of what I want for my future.”
—K., 23 years old, Boston (Momentum Coaching student)
Ready to stay on track, manage stress, and feel more in control? Momentum Coaching offers one-on-one support that helps students build real-life skills to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Momentum Coaching is a 14-session, flexible, and personalized program designed to help students feel more confident, capable, and in control of their schoolwork and daily responsibilities. Through a supportive coaching relationship, students build practical executive functioning skills while working toward goals that matter to them. Each session can be adapted to meet the student’s individual strengths, challenges, and needs.
Together with their coach, students work on:
Emotional regulation to help students understand what happens when stress, frustration, or overwhelm gets in the way of learning. Students learn practical tools to recognize emotions, calm their bodies, manage challenging moments, and develop a more compassionate and confident approach to setbacks. The goal is to help students feel better equipped to navigate the ups and downs of school and everyday life.
Attention and focus building to give students strategies they can actually use from organizing materials and creating supportive study spaces to managing distractions, getting started on assignments, and taking effective breaks. Students discover how their environment, routines, and energy affect their ability to focus and learn, helping them develop systems that work for them.
Collaborative task completion and small goal setting to help turn skills into action. Coaches work alongside students to break overwhelming assignments into manageable steps, create personalized routines, and set small, achievable goals that build momentum over time. As students practice these skills, they develop greater independence, self-regulated learning, and confidence. By the end of the program, each student has a personalized toolkit and a plan for moving forward. Students are welcome to reconnect with their coach in the future when they need a little extra support to regain their momentum.

Who is Momentum Coaching for?
Momentum Coaching is open to high school and college students anywhere, with both in-person and remote options available. This is an action-oriented coaching model geared toward students who may be struggling academically, socially, or both.

How does Momentum Coaching work?
Momentum Coaching is flexible, personalized, and designed to meet students where they are. Students participate in 45–50 minute coaching sessions focused on practical executive functioning skills they can use right away. Sessions are tailored to each student’s individual needs, goals, strengths, and challenges, with an emphasis on building skills that can make everyday school demands feel more manageable.
Does coaching have to be weekly? Not necessarily. While Momentum Coaching’s curriculum is designed as a 14-week framework to align with a typical academic term, the number and frequency of sessions are flexible and can be adapted to each student’s needs and plan. Weekly sessions are recommended at the beginning to establish a consistent routine, build accountability, and create momentum. As students become more confident and independent, sessions can be adjusted based on their progress and ongoing needs.
Where do sessions take place? Coaching is available in person at The Brookline Center or virtually through Zoom, making it easier to find an approach that works for each student and family. Whether a student needs support getting started, managing a busy academic schedule, staying focused, or building greater independence, coaching can be adapted along the way.
Who can refer? Students and parents can self-refer to Momentum Coaching. Schools, educators, and other providers are also welcome to refer students who may benefit from additional support. The goal is simple: to give each student practical tools, individualized support, and the confidence to keep moving forward—at a pace that works for them.
