We are currently recruiting for groups beginning in April 2026: Mindful Parenting (Wednesday @4:00 In-Person) & SPACE (Thursday @10:00 Zoom)

Parenting Groups

The Brookline Center offers a few types of groups focused on parenting and caregivers. The groups are each offered multiple times a year.

Being a parent or caregiver is hard work. Our groups are designed to positively impact the entire family—the caregiver(s) are the agents of change. In this program, we want to work with parents/caregivers to think differently about their child(ren), to consider how the whole family is operating, and to improve how they are coping with the experience of parenting. We believe that in some cases, that’s the most impactful intervention for kids!

Supportive Parenting of Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE)

SPACE is a parent-based treatment program for children and adolescents with anxiety, OCD, and related problems. SPACE helps parents practice skills of responding supportively to their child’s anxiety and changing their accommodations to their child’s symptoms, ultimately supporting the child in reducing their experience of anxiety.

A child’s anxiety can impact the entire family. SPACE is a targeted intervention that works with parents/caregivers of children and adolescents with anxiety. Come learn this high impact intervention in a cohort of peers who can relate to your family’s experience.

Mindful Parenting

Parenting is hard. Mindful parenting is designed to help busy parents and caregivers take a break, slow down, and reconnect to themselves and their own present moment experience. This is an experiential group and will involve breathing, guided meditation, mindful movement, and reflective practices. Such practices can help caregivers meet moments of stress with increased calm and clarity. The group will cultivate a nonjudgmental space of exploration and kindness. Open to parents and caregivers of children ages 0-18.
